About

David Bunce at rockpools in St Andrews

My name is David and I’m a theology and German student at the University of St Andrews in Scotland. This is my online world. This is the place where I write about things I’m thinking about, have a bit of craic and try and sell some websites. I’m interested in travelling, theology, good web design and how the web can help people engage with others.

I live in Vienna

About David Bunce - picture of Vienna houses

From September 2011 I will be living with in Vienna, Austria. I will work with the British Council teaching English in a school that, for obvious reasons, will be known here only as the Chalet School.

Outside of my teaching hours, I will work in a local Baptist church here, which means I get to do a variety of interesting things both during the actual church services and outside doing a variety of things to engage the people whose worlds rub shoulders with the church.

Web design

About me - web design

Web design is my job. It is the way I fund my way through university and what allows me to pay the bills. However, it is much more than that. I am interested in how good web design can create a strong online identity to an organisation and help them reach people they would never have reached before.

I am particularly interested in how web site designs can help churches fulfil their mission and I try to give churches who hire me the best possible websites. I am also interested in the theology of web design and how it fits into a bigger theology of mission.

I am also fascinated by how technology can help organisations do things more efficiently. To this end, I created the Church Rota software, which is free to download and use.
